Hollywood of the North
A derelict building which used to belong to beloved Littlewoods has been bought by Capital & Centric who are planning on turning the space into a bustling Film & TV Studio open to all creatives and hope for it to be the Hollywood of the North with help from Twickenham studios. The art deco building has been derelict for 20 years, part of the site was destroyed in 2018 due to a fire so plans got delayed.

The development project is estimated to cost £70million and will provide jobs for thousands of professionals.
Holding a cinema, studio space, workspaces, and a screening zone open to the public, Capital & Centric have planned every detail in line for their new project.
The building development is still under construction but the neighbouring Depot building is actually open to the public when certain events are held in there. Recently there was a food and drink market event held in the building open to the public.
“I was born and raised in the city, I grew up in Toxteth just round the corner from the site. So I’ve driven past this building so many times and always longed for it to be re-developed.” - John Moffat, Director at Capital & Centric
After many delays and a fire, work is set to begin on the project in the next few months and is set to last a good few years.
“Want to turn it into the “Hollywood of the North.”” - Steve Rotherham, MP
We’re very much looking forward to the studio development and when it opens we’ll be looking to secure a new space for our company within the complex!
